Gender Club

International Women’s Day

Empowering the next generation of leaders!

We recently celebrated International Women’s Day (March 8) at Arado School with an incredible event organized by Hadia, our Gender Club leader, and the PIE-Ethiopia board members.

From powerful speeches by our club members to the documentation of our ongoing gender equality initiatives, the day was a beautiful reminder of the potential within every student. A huge thank you to Fantahun and the entire team for supporting these vital conversations.

Together, we are building a more inclusive future!

ICT Project

Powering Digital Futures

In a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the PIE Project is currently overseeing the installation of a state-of-the-art computer center at Mohammed Hanfre Secondary School.

This facility is designed to be more than just a room full of screens; it serves as a gateway to global knowledge, equipping students with essential ICT skills and digital literacy necessary for the 21st-century workforce. To ensure this digital education program remains accessible 24/7, the project includes the construction of a dedicated solar power station, guaranteeing a free and uninterrupted power supply that keeps our students connected and learning without compromise.

Volunteers

Community in Action: PIE Project Welcomes New Volunteers and Forms Specialized Committees

The PIE Project Ethiopia family continues to grow! On January 4, 2026, we held our first in-person volunteer meeting of the year, marking a significant milestone in our collective mission to support children's education in Ethiopia.
We are thrilled to announce that five new volunteers officially joined our team during this session. Their energy and diverse skill sets arrived at a pivotal time as we scale our impact for the year ahead.

Organizing for Impact
To ensure our goals are met with efficiency and focus, the team has organized into four specialized sub-committees. These groups will work in parallel over the coming months to drive our core initiatives:

  • Partnerships & Outreach: Building bridges with global and local organizations to expand our reach.

  • Events & Fundraising: Designing and executing the campaigns that make our educational projects possible.

  • Charity Status & Finance: Managing our growth with transparency and working toward official status milestones.

  • Social Media & Newsletter: Keeping our community informed and sharing the stories of the students we serve.

Pie Event

Fundraiser Event: Supporting Children's Education in Ethiopia

Our community came together this past September at WazemaRestaurant for a special night dedicated to education in Ethiopia. We would like to thank Efrem, the owner of Wazema restaurant, for providing the space for our event, and the other volunteers who helped in the preparation and organization of this event. Thanks to the incredible local artists who volunteered their talents, our donors enjoyed an evening of music and inspiration.

Most importantly, we shared the heart of PIE’s mission: providing children and families with a brighter future through learning. It was a powerful reminder that every donation, no matter the size, truly changes a life.
