About Us

PIE Ethiopia's  journey started with a fundraising program on Zoom to help victims of the war, displaced children and families in Afar two years ago. We decided to use the money raised by Berhan students for a sustainable program. Education became a key project to focus on in order to break the cycle of poverty in Afar as a long-term program. We  contacted the Ministry of Education in Addis Ababa to assign us a school that is aligned with our vision and objectives and has the community involved. The Arado school in Afar Asiata was chosen and our cooperation started. We then decided to establish a charity that will work to promote education, which focused on remote schools and have as its objectives to empower girls, introduce technology to facilitate better education and provide affordable electricity to run the systems, in addition to digitizing the school administration and office.
